Crewposters

crewch/imposter halflings, or mixes of the two
crewposters are categorized and treated the same as imposters.
meaning they don't have to follow most limitations that true Crewches have!
the differences a crewposter would have against an absolute imposter would solely depend on the imposter species in question, if that applies!typically crewposters only have a few imposter qualities, and wouldn't be as powerful and/or wouldn't have all the working imp abilities- or simply just lack some of the imposter look.again though, what makes a crewposter is completely up to the creator!

GUIDELINES [written]

starting with what makes a True Crewch, followed by imposter Crewches.

Covered in Fur

  • length and texture of fur is variable.

  • can be long-haired, short-haired, have manes, tufts, etc.

  • can have head hair, bangs, beards, sideburns, etc.

  • can be hairless as some sort of defect or injury/disease.

Cyclops Eye

  • scleras are coloured.

  • iris is an off-white/light-colour

[this is based on how their suit's visors have the white-reflection,
i cheat and use the reflection more to express what direction crewches are looking]

Short Snouts

  • 90% of them have the tooth-like protrusions on their maws.

[separate from their actual teeth, which are dull but carnivorous]

  • these notches can be over-bite or under-bite, or a combination.

  • they usually have 1 or 2 on either side- can be up to 3 though.

  • these notches can be short or long, but don't grow longer than past their snouts.

  • they are onmivorous

Guts

  • their blood/insides can be any colour, so it doesn't have to be the normal pink/red.

  • guts can have a gradient of two adjacent colours.

  • their blood colour should match their flesh colour, typically a darker hue.

  • their teeth n' bones can also have unusual colours.

Antennae

  • they have a pair of antennae.

  • direction and length of antennae can vary.

  • generally thin lines with a little bulb at the end.

  • the bulb is optional though.

Horns

  • they can have horns!

  • size and shape are variable. horns can be mismatching.

  • horns are not limited to imposters.

  • horns stop growing once they are adults, or once their horns reach a certain length [which is usually no longer than the length of their skull].

Tails

  • they have unicorn tails.

  • fur tuft at the end is variable.

  • tails do not grow longer than their legs [excluding the tuft fur].

  • have fun with it!

Body

  • Crewch bodies are human-esque:

  • they have plantigrade legs.

  • they have opposable thumbs/human hands [can be drawn with 3 or 4 fingers + thumb - i just draw 3 + thumb as a personal style].

  • human mouth/tongue, otherwise details mentioned earlier.

  • they have human-like peets.

[in my mind, the toes do not separate- but i don't mind otherwise]

  • weight is distributed similar humans and can vary like so. their bodies can be any mix of typical human male or female structure/weight distribution, but can also be toony-exaggerated. [skinny/underweight, huggable, overweight, etc. **except for fetish sizes**].

  • height can vary from 3ft to 7ft [91cm - 213cm].

Design

  • design can be a mix of any colours, except pure white and pure black.

  • they can have any markings! stripes, spots, patches, countershading, etc.

  • no bioluminescence [glowing].

'Backpack'

  • the 'backpack' is optional.

  • its covered in fur, and is a part of their bodies.

don't ask me what its for, or what's in it- not even i knowtheory: it has something to do with regulating/maintaining pressure

Wings

  • they can have a functional pair of wings.

  • variable sizes, but no bigger than their whole body.

  • they can have nonfunctional wings on head as well.

  • feathered wings are the most common.

  • webbed wings are rare but not impossible.

  • but mixed wings are not possible!

[mixed wings include: having one feather wing, one webbed wing, aka mismatching wings - or wings that are a combination of feathered and webbed]

Miscellaneous

  • they can have ears! its not common, but its not impossible.

  • they can have whiskers! on their snouts or anywhere on their body.

Reproduction

  • human genitalia only.

  • they can only successfully breed amongst themselves, or with mimic creatures that can closely match their genetics, aka "imposters."

  • this means No hybrids between Crewches and other creatures!

your Crewch can be inspired by an animal/creature- but they can't be a literal mix of said creature. [for example: half wolf / half Crewch is not allowed].

Abnormal body

  • imposters can be smaller or taller!

  • they can have different eyes, in either the sclera, iris, eye-lining, or a combination!

example: my Para imposters have near-black scleras, and 'echoing' [multiple] irises.

  • imposter Crewches can have smaller extra eyes as well.

  • they can have digitigrade legs.

  • they can have clawed fingers and/or toes [at will or by default].

  • they can be more decorated than usual Crewches [nubbins, spikes, more wings, mixed wings, extra arms, frills, different tails, etc.]

  • they can have bioluminescence [glowing markings, body parts, etc.]

  • they can have alien / unusual / non-human genitalia.

Abnormal mouths

  • freedom to have sharper teeth, snaggle teeth, or any variable monster teeth!

  • they can have abnormal tongues too!

  • they can split open, have montrous teeth, or even more mouths on their body / in unusual places, to however your imposter works, have fun with it!

keep in mind, certain visible aspects can easily give them away, making them distinct/noticable from true Crewches

Lore

Origins

Crewches are a human species that undergone a mix of genetic modification and long-established evolution.

  • a set population of humans underwent body and genetic modification- both utilitarian and cosmetic.

  • on top of this, they evolved over a long duration of time for better survival in space.

  • so technically speaking, the Crewch species takes place quite far in the future.


Notes

Social Norms

  • Crewches, similarly to typical humans, wear clothes as a social standard.

i'm terrible and draw characters in the nude all the time by default, but do not let this foul you! Crewches should be in CLOTHES.

  • being in the nude is seen as vulgar, insensitive, and shameful! gotta keep those private bits covered.


Early stages of life

General Info

  • skin colour in Crewches are usually just a pale hue of what their fur colour is, varying pigments/markings included (similar to animals like cats and dogs).

  • Crewches are born with their backpacks, which are equally covered in fur and also sensitive to the touch.


Early Development

  • Crewches are born via live birth, resulting in them having belly buttons.

  • Crewches are born looking seemingly 'hairless,' as their fur has yet to grow out. their skin colour will show prominently in their first year of life, and they are particularly wrinkly.

  • when Crewches are born, their antennae are encased and protected while they develop in a little chrysalis nub. their antennae will shed 2 or 3 times until fully grown out. (their last shed is around age 10 - 12)

  • Crubs are blind for 2 weeks, being unable to open their eye for a week after birth.

  • their vision quality is comparable to opening your eyes underwater, improving after around a year or two of life.

  • Crewches will develop their lip notches at around 12 - 18 months of age.

  • Crewpies are clumsy and uncoordinated, as they learn to crawl at about a few months old - and start [trying] to walk at around one or two years old. they're [normally] fully walking by age 3.

  • typically, Crewpies are chubby, needing a lot of food to grow nice and healthy. they normally keep their baby fat until age 2 - 5.

though some roachies keep small amounts of brown fat even after early stages of life.


Extra Notes

  • grabbing/holding a Crewpy by their backpack is an effective way to get them to quiet down and cease movement- but this is not recommended due to the risk of causing physical trauma to the Crewpy if done enough times. (this action should be saved for emergency situations).

  • the word 'roachie' is a term of endearment meaning "precious baby Crewch" used despite age. (for example, like how some will call dogs 'puppies' regardless of how old the dog actually is)


Reproductive organs

Breasts

Neither sex naturally possesses mammalian breasts / nipples.Crewches have lost the ability to nurse their young due to this, and have to manually make formula to feed infant crubs.So basically, female-sexed Crewches are not drawn with distinguishable breasts.
the idea is that males and females can't really be told apart when put side by side.
This goes to say, they are futuristic creatures! i'm sure some would go as far as to get breast implants and/or augmentation, if so wished for.
It just needs to be indicated as such if a Crewch does in-fact have notable breasts.

Genitals

Cis Male sex: similar to typical human anatomy, male-sexed crewches are equipped with an external penis and testes.their equipment size can be small, medium, or big [in moderation].
canonically, their dicks can't be huge [specifically should not reach or pass their knees]


Cis Female sex: similar to human anatomy, female-sexed crewches are equipped with a vagina, and a uterus [and coordinating female reproductive tract organs] for bearing offspring.Crewches with wombs experience a light-weight variant of human menstruation.
Blood-flow is light and happens for 1 or 2 days, once every one to two months.


Gestation

Gestation lasts 4 months before child-bearing Crewches give live birth to 1-2 offspring at a time.infant Crubs are connected to their bearing parent via an umbilical cord, of which they are supplied nutrients during pregnancy.Crewches can be born inter-sexed as a chromosome discrepancy, similar to humans.
This is similarly uncommon and chromosome/sex-features combinations vary case-by-case.

Transgender identity in Crewches

Transgender Crewches absolutely exist and are generally socially accepted.Crewches can be simply socially transgender, or go through any amount of gender affirming care- such as: Hormone Replacement Therapy or gender affirming surgeries.Name changes and gender-affirming care is covered through any and all health insurances given legal age consent!
Some of these things may require parental consent and/or professional therapist/practitioner referral (just like in real life).

is it Crewches or Crewch?

  • the species name is 'Crewch.' the term 'Crewches' is specifically the plural for crewch!

example: "the lonesome Crewch climbed down the ladder to meet up with their fellow friends." [the room was full of Crewches]i noticed this got confused a lot, my apologies lol

can my Crewch be with my other characters?

  • i don't see why not :] you can draw/write them with your anthro/furry characters, humans, monsters, etc. || and Crewches don't have to exist in their canon environment either, you can draw them in any time period as you wish!

Crewches technically already canonically live with other species so it wouldn't make sense for me to gatekeep this option lol

can i draw my Crewch as a human?

  • yes absolutely. you can make it an alt form for your Crewch; or a "this is how they used to look like" scenario; or simply draw them as humans for fun!

Crewches are a distant branch off from the homosapien line- they're a mix of genetic modification and evolving into their own species.

Imposter-specific questions

these answers apply to imposters, and do not apply to true Crewches.

What exactly is an imposter?

  • well that's the fun part, they can be anything! imposters are any creature capable of shape-shifting/ability to change their appearance to resemble other creatures. Crewch imposters specifically mimic Crewches, either temporarily or more committed. of course they don't have to exclusively mimic Crewches alone, there are no restrictions on that front! imposters are in a way, more of your own personal critter. they don't have to resemble Crewches in their true/pure forms at all.

what makes an imposter a Crewch imposter, is obviously the fact that they would mimic a Crewch form in any way, for any duration of time. there is no restrictions for this either- they can have a Crewch form and shift in and out of said form at any point within their choice and/or power. they can have multiple forms besides a Crewch form [like other imposter species, or other animal/creatures. its as limitless as your imagination]!

so, are there any imposter species?

  • in the community Crewches were inspired from, people tend to create their own imp species :D there aren't really any "set" imposter species out there, just our own little brain-children!

this is what makes Crewch imposters fun, because they can be basically anything you want them to be.

what are your imposter species? do you have any?

  • in fact i do! ,,i only have *counts on fingers, 3 of my own imposter species [my most populus species: Para (plural Paras); an extinct species: Weaver(s); and another near extinction: Banster(s)], but they're all sorta personal lads for me [and most-likely undesirable once known about in detail LOL].

for any undefined Crewch imposters i own, i simply refer to them as 'demon imps' [example: Dmitri] since the word demon is very broad, and the shortened abbreviation for imposter, 'imp,' is also its own broad term!

Are 'Crewposters' allowed?

  • Yes, crewposters are allowed, and quite frankly are pretty common too!

Crewposters are classified as imposters, but you're totally free to specify if your Crewch character is a crewposter!

what's,, a crewposter?

  • a mix of a true Crewch and an imposter Crewch.

whether it be a character born from said pair, or created by artificial means [test tube babies, experiments, etc.]

why do most of your imposters have those floating spikes behind their head?

  • most of my imposters are simply related to Marquer LOL

the floating spikies are a trait from Spector's genes. Since Marq is Spector's kid, he gets it from them. any of my characters with the floating spikes are either related to Spector or Marq!

**so its not a typical imposter trait, and i would appreciate others not assimilating too similar a feature to their characters! its just been a lil thing i've added to my sonas for years now.

true Crewch-specific questions

these are answers for true Crewches, and doesn't necessarily apply to imposters.

What's the lifespan of a Crewch?

  • they live up to around 60 years normally!

they age the same as normal humans, they just die at an earlier age. a Crewch in their 40's is considered old, while their 50's are elderly.

What's the backpack for? ,,what's in the backpack..?

  • i have no idea :D but its organic part of their bodies! and squishable too.

theory: it has something to do with regulating/maintaining pressure.

[sometimes crubs are held up by their backpacks- but its not recommended to do this often in risk of long-term injury].

How long can their tail be?

  • the tip of their tail can be long enough to be around an inch or so from touching the ground, when completely limp. a tail this long will result in the tuft of fur dragging along the floor behind them if its drooping low.

the fur at the end of their tails can be as long as the tail itself, and even a little bit longer for aged Crewches.

best example of the longest acceptable tail for true Crewches, is my character, Spector!

Can Crewches have no antennae?

  • Nope, the antennae are required on true Crewches! they can loose them in an injury/accident though.

without their antennae, they have a difficult time understanding their surroundings, so its not recommended for them to remove those willingly, either!

[its okay if you forget to draw them in, sometimes i forget myself lol]

Do true Crewch toes ever separate?

  • i don't ever draw them separated. its cursed to think that they don't ever separate, but i think that's canonically how they are.

despite this, i will not mind anyone drawing them more Normally lmao, it doesn't bother me. its more of just a cursed, weird personal thing i have in my head for them.

[just remember that true Crewch toes are rounded, not toe claws, and its all good!]

Resemblence to Crewches in true form: none.
Imposter Species type: parasitic (reliant on Crewches for survival).
Species Population: abundant, very common.

  • the chance for a Para imposter to be on a crew roster is very high.

Social Level:

  • fully sentient.

  • highly domesticated.

  • capable of full sophistication.

Threat / Danger Level: low.
Annoyance Level: moderate.


Diet: space rocks and water. the minerals and such found in rocks is essential to their diet. however, Paras can eat human food, as well as non-human food, without issue. in-fact, there is probably very few things they can't eat. things they can't eat are the typical highly dangerous substances like lava or most liquid chemicals.
waste is in the form of regurgitated pellets.

Lifespan: around 250 cycles (up to around 60 human years).

  • there are 4 Para Imposter years within a single Crewch/human year. this means Para Imposters age much faster than Crewches do.

Capable of Intraspecific Reproduction: no.


True Form - Appearance

Body Shape: massive and eel-like.
Visual Features:

  • _FLESH: body flesh resembles plump, twisted muscle fiber, and is slightly translucent. _

  • HEAD: a large, clamp-shaped head indicates the front-end of the body, and determines the size of the Para. the head is vertically symmetrical and almost entirely horizontally symmetrical as well. (no upside down for them).

  • EYES: 4 pairs of eyes (8 eyes total) on head, 2 pairs on the topside, 2 pairs on the bottomside (4 eyes total on each side). eyes are a lightning bolt shape, symmetrically placed, and are one solid colour. eyes are capable of squinting and blinking, but are otherwise non-expressive. they glow with life, and stop glowing after death.

  • NOSTRILS: 4 pairs of nares (8 nares total) on head, 2 pairs on the topside, 2 pairs on the bottomside (4 nares total on each side). nares are placed symmetrically between each pair of eyes.

  • MAW: the maw is exposed due to the shape of the head. it houses a Para's tendrils and tentacles. maw can open up to a 90° degree angle comfortably, and up to 120° uncomfortably/with strain. maws are entirely non-expressive.

  • TEETH: retractable. the flesh containing their teeth are fully motorized, allowing Para's to move their teeth like digits (either all at the same time in one direction, or individually moving teeth). their teeth are the only bones they possess.

  • NUBBINS: several squishy, lightweight nubbins decorate along the length of their bodies (bulbed ends are bioluminescent, by will). they are grouped in rows randomly along the body. length of nubbins vary between individuals. they stop glowing after death.

  • FLAPS: below mid-length, Para's have a pair of 'wings,' visually similar to a cephalopod cuddlefish fins. these serve as a form of mobility in the void of space (movements also similar to cuddlefish), as well as form the outer layer to their disguise. the colour of their flappies determines their disguise colour- being the source of their chromatic/chameleon-like ability.

  • LIMBS: none on the body. a Para's grappling tendrils serve has their hands.

  • TAIL: at the end of their bodies, Paras have a pointed fin that indicates their tail. upon this tail fin are bioluminescent spotted markings. this fin aids mobility in space.


Shape Shifting

Capable of true Crewch disguise: yes.Possible Shifting capabilities: can fully mimic Crewch forms (its own, or others); thusly can shift smaller parts of themselves like horns, colour, markings, etc; can hide nubbins; change body size (in moderation).

☆ Shifting capabilities vary between each individual depending on how distorted its genes are. the more 'pure' the para, the more capabilities it has.
*like for example, some weaker Paras aren't able to hide their nubbins, or their horns, etc.


In Disguise

"Imp form" disguise: looks like what a "were-Crewch" would probably be.Defining Features: heavy corner "eyeliner," near-black scleras, divided pupils (one slit pupil with half pupils on either side); maw on diaphragm region (their actual head's maw), tendrils from tum maw; large claw-digit hands with coloured flat palms; nubbins on body (usually along backside); digitigrade legs with claw-toes.
Crewch features: antennae, unicorn tail, and backpack are optional.

  • their true form can be up to 10x as big as their mimic form. their flesh is capable of compressing down to ¹/12th their true size.


Imp Features

Aura: all Paras have an aura that makes them easily identified by other imposter species.
this aura is heavily repulsive for Crewches, if they can sense it. Paras have the natural chemical ability to cloak/suppress this aura, rendering it unnoticeable by Crewches.


Communication: Paras have the ability to speak telepathically. *this ability is determined by how pure their genes are.
they can speak to individuals singularly, or 'broadcast' their telepathic voice, giving it proximity.

_*they can choose what their telepathic voice is like, as well as change it altogether. _their natural, real voice is harsh and louder than typical voices we're used to, usually deeper in tone as well- all this is simply due to their real size.


Tendrils [utility]: all Paras possess grappler tendrils. the most common amount is 2 grapplers, but they can have up to 3 of them. grappler tendrils are long, slender, with a slightly bulbed end- and are slightly translucent. grappler tendrils are Para's equivalent to hands, and are more natural to them for that usage.Paras, on rare occasion, may posess a killer tendril by genetic mutation. similar in appearance to grapplers, but with a sharp, pointed end.a Para's tendrils can be smooth, or decorated with nub-like protrusions (determined by ancestral genes).


Tentacles [purpose]: all Paras possess a feeding tentacle, which allows them to intake fluids for digestion. it is incapable of taking in solid substances.

this tentacle is needed during the first few stages of their life. after they fully mature, they can eat solid/bigger foods and no longer require their feeding tentacle.



Reproduction

Tentacles [purpose]: _all Paras possess a singular mating tentacle, as well as a singular implanting tentacle. _
the mating tentacle is long, slippery, moderate in girth, with a tapered end- and is translucent. this tentacle is their reproductive organ. its sensitive and basically works the same way as a human male's bits.
the implanting tentacle is long, solid, moderate in girth, and adorned with a spike at the end. this tentacle is used to render male-sexed Crewches capable for reproduction, implanting a fully functional womb. this tentacle is sensitive but robust.


Pheromones: Para's [purpose] tentacles secrete pheromones that double as anesthetic chemicals that temporarily diminish all physical pain in the body.they use these pheromones to facilitate Crewch breeding- temporarily altering their mental state, convincing/bounding them into a successful mating session.


Rut: _Paras experience 'rut' when they haven't mated in a while. the duration between which they need to mate depends on their instinct level. _

_ rut in Para Imposters slowly drives them 'crazy,' eventually leading to uncontrollable behavior the longer they go without mating. soon causing them to spiral into a mindless aggression in order to seek what they require._their sheer strength can cause casualties when they enter a mindless aggressive state.cause of death in Para Imposters (when driven into mindless states) is actually unknown.

Instinct: _Instinct levels vary depending on how far gone an Imposter line has carried. _
Para Imposters were originally extremely low-instinct creatures.
Interbreeding with Crewches have mixed up their genetic makeup, causing their instinct levels to rise, (the Crewmate basis of sexual gratification got lost when mixed with their alien makeup- thusly translating to instinct instead) making them: more aggressive; slowly lose their ability to shape-shift; decrease the length/amount of sensor nubbins, and lose other useful abilities.tl;dr, the longer a generation of imposter goes, the less 'pure' they become. loosing their useful abilities.

Low-instinct imposters need to breed less, allowing them to keep more of their original genetic make-up and ability.

Senses

due to Para's heightened senses, they're very environmentally perceptive.
they make for very great detectives!
Sense of Sight and Smell: their specialized nostrils grant Paras 'smell-o-vison'. their eyesight vision is described as slightly blurry, but is enhanced by visible smells, in which they can track down individuals by their scent. scents, to Paras, appear as smoky trails.Smell-o-vision: Paras can smell fear, blood, pain, arousal, and tell who's biologically related to who. they are capable of distingishing these things due to them appearing visually different via their smell-o-vision.
the smoky trails left by individuals allows a Para to see where a person has been recently, and what they had touched during that day.
Sense of Hearing: Para's hearing is acute- they are capable of hearing frequencies up to 150000 hertz, without such fequencies bothering or hurting them.Nubbins: Paras are adorned with several nubbins, which are sensors for a sense Crewmates do not have, nor understand. it mostly aids in space travel and picking up environmental information/direction.


their senses are not limited to environmental information, but also biological information! these senses are theorized to be sensed by their nubbins, if not by smell.Blood relations: Paras are able to tell which beings are related to each other by blood. this sense is usually immediate.Contact: Paras can tell when two or more beings have been in contact with each other, thanks to their smell-o-vision. it'll be obvious if they've been together a lot, as the sense will be stronger. Paras can even sense when they are romantically/sexually paired half the time.Emotions: Paras can sense strong states of emotion. these include: lust, pain, fear/anxiety, anger, guilt/shame, excitement, sadness, and happiness [in order of easy-to-detect to less easy].Blood: Paras can smell blood, even from behind a wall or two. if someone was bleeding and traveled, Paras can smell/follow the track of the blood.


Association with Crewches

Parasitic Reliance: _ Para imposters are unable to reproduce within their species. thusly, they heavily rely on Crewches to continue their species population- due to Crewches having a compatible reproductive system, allowing Crewches to bear their offspring._

  • its not uncommon for Paras to 'hit-and-run' Crewches, leaving them to raise their offspring.

Threat Level: the majority of Para individuals dislike conflict and avoid it whenever possible. they prefer peace with Crewches, lest they can overcome the stigmas held against them.
most Crewch casualties caused by Paras were accidental, as its against Paras' nature to cause harm to Crewches.
Paras do not eat Crewches, in-fact Crewch corpses are repulsive to Paras and are otherwise impossible for them to injest/digest safely.
any Para that actively hunts, hurts, or kills crewmates is chemically and mentally dysfunctional.


Sophistication: since Paras are typically raised by their Crewch parents, they are immediately assimilated within Crewch society/communities. they are widely sophisticated and domesticated- with at least ⅔rds of their population being fully acculturated.Relationships: its desirable for a Para to build a sound bond with a Crewch. If a Crewch is willing to keep a Para satiated, then said Para can remain high-functioning and not be a "bother."


Fun Facts

Name Origin: the term "Para" could be short for 'parasite,' or take the meaning of 'para' as in "analogous" or "irregular" because they're mimics.Evolution: their true form is more built for mobility in space, than it is for aggression.
the only weapons they have are their retractable teeth, their sheer size/strength, and how they utilize their tendrils.
Health Requirements: young Paras require sleep, protection, and food to grow into healthy adults. typical baby formula is enough to sustain child growth.
once they fully mature, they can eat bigger/more solid food (their feeding tentacle becomes unneeded).
once they sexually mature, they lose the need to sleep.
Paras do not require oxygen for survival (they do not need to breathe).


Paras are a Semi-Open Species

due to their population canonically being very common, technically it would make sense to let others make their own Para imposter character(s).Paras are my most fleshed-out and information-packed imposter species- making them the easiest to understand for making your own Para characters.i will not monitor, encourage, or discourage the creation of Para imposter characters.Paras are a personal species of mine created for story purposes.since Paras are an inspired, unoriginal species (in concept and function), i do not feel right in making them a closed species.

Species Population: low, near extinction. less than 10 are known.

Background:

Justyn was raised by his parents on one of the home planets of expedition Crewches. soon after he was born, his parents had divorced, and there was always bad energy within the house. he had a terrible relationship with his mother, who he spent most of his time with as a child since she took care of him, though rather poorly. his father, a run-of-the-mill technician, inspired his love and passion for technology as he followed in his steps. Justyn moved out as soon as he was of age, finding himself a place on the expedition ships. he gained skills beyond what his dad would accomplish, becoming a well-known and recognized crewmate among his peers. he humbled himself to a life on the low-rank ships; occasionally dreaming of the elite ranks.

Background:

orphaned at the age of 3, adopted by a sickly botanist, soon to be orphaned once again as a teen- giving him the history of unfortunate parents. he was raised to be kind, always eager to help others as he was used to being there for his adoptive mother.
being raised by a crewmate, he grew up thinking and acting like one. certain reminders that he's an imposter gives him anxiety- as he doesn't want others to be uncomfortable, or think of him as 'scary.'
all his life he had been a part of several crews, hopping from mission to mission on lower rank expedition ships. he has made friends along the way and plans to keep doing so as his adventure continues.

Anthen

Background:

Quite the tragic character, Anthen was born an unfortunate life. Despite given the 'Crewposter' label, he technically isn't enough of an imposter to be considered as one.[lots of sciencey talk - CW // pregnancy terms] He was going to be born normally, until early in the pregnancy, his mother was afflicted by a 'hit and run' from an imposter. In the womb, he partially absorbed his fraternal twin- thusly causing several issues in his genetic makeup; he became an odd crewch + imposter gene soup. Some cases of twin absorption causes them to inherit those twin's genes; some even get two completely opposite immune systems. This resulted in him being permanently immuno-compromised [if they get sick or injured, their body might attack itself]. He lost his right arm + hand during the absorption [mutual absorption]._Anthen, despite being some odd type of hybrid, is completely harmless. He has the body and anatomy of a true Crewch, with a few imposter features sprinkled in.
_
Features include:** Para imposter eyes [thick black "eyeliner" corners, near-black sclera, 3 irises], an onimous aura [heavily repulsive for Crewches, if they can sense it], horns continued to grow [past typical Crewch limit], can see the dead [ghosts].

He lacks the chemical ability to suppress/cloak that ominous aura about him, like typical Para imposters can, resulting in other crew members despising his presence. His build and life is suffering due to all of this.He lost his left leg in an incident with an imposter that sneaked/invaded the ship he was assigned to. Said imposter was a prankster-type, meddled with the machinery he maintains, not quite knowing what it was doing really. When Anthen booted up his usual routine with said machinery, by the time he realized something was terribly wrong, he didn't have enough time to escape the explosion that resulted. He was able to gain enough distance to survive, but his leg got caught under rebar and was beyond saving with his condition disallowing him to heal well. From there on out, he is mostly unable to walk without the support of his cane.
He gained drastic scarring around his amputated limbs due to the connections/meddling from the prosthetics.
He ended his life eventually because the pains he dealt with became too much to bear.

Background:

Spector, secretly desperate something to cherish, to care for, after having lost so many in their past, was set on making the 'perfect child,' the 'heir to the throne.'
Funding countless experiments on making a near flawless specimen, a new child to call their own; to put all their time and energy in. After what felt like never-ending failures, experiment #268 was the one that had finally survived. A careful mix of Crewch, Para imposter, and Banster imposter genes and makeup, Atlas was created, and thrived.
